Black Phone

This is another rescore, this time for a Blumhouse horror/thriller set in the 1970’s about the boy Finney who is kidnapped by the Grabber. Over a non-working black phone on the wall Finney is called by the spirits of the boys who the Grabber killed before. They give him clues as to how to escape from the inevitable…

This is a wonderfully executed, brilliantly acted movie with lots of emotion and drama that inspired me to come up with an hybrid-orchestral score full of atonal techniques, clusters and orchestral effects, but there are also moments of big emotion and (Spoiler!) relief at the end.

Black Phone is available on all major streaming services and on Youtube.
